STEP ONE
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

So much to say, and yet I've only got less than 4 hours to sleep. Okay, firstly, I just thought I should mention that a couple of days ago, I got my exam results, and I passed! Which is kind of a big deal because I thought I was gonna fail the year due to choosing the wrong classes for myself (note to self: latin and science suck balls). Also I'm going away to Germany for two weeks, so that's why I felt the need to write this post. Because mini vacation means no internet access, no internet access means no catching up on what's going on in the world, and worst of all - no McFassy fanfic. Quel horreur, right? But alas, I've downloading the first 200 issues of the Uncanny X-Men, so I should be able to survive those two weeks. I also thought I should mention that when I come back from Germany, I'll be revamping my lj. I've decided that it would be better to create a comm, so that I can keep my edits and icons separate from my musings. Which means most of my icon batches on here will be deleted and moved to my comm, and the old icons that I made from when I first started (2009-2010) will be deleted entirely as they're way to embarrassing. So that's pretty much it! Bonne nuit mes cheries!

Hello! So last year I asked a few questions about html and such, which you all kindly replied to with super easy answers, THANK YOU! :) So here are a few more (some of them are not entirely lj related though) which I've been wondering about,,,

  • When posting to a community page, how can I post links with phrases like i can do with lj cut?
  • How can I post a link to a user/community when I credit them on the Comments box using Manage Userpics?
  • How can I make slick bios like this one? Example.
  • What exactly is Custom CSS and what can I do with it?
  • When posting a fanmix, how exactly can I post the songs to download & is it really necessary?
  • How can I make gifs?
  • How do memes work?
  • What is the average size of a banner?
  • Can anyone recommend me a few good sites/downloads for photo manipulating to make icons, wallpapers, sigs...etc (as the chances of me getting Photoshop are a zillion to one)?
  • Where can I find good Doctor Who sigs?
  • How can I upload Moods? How does that work?

It would be REALLY great if any of you have the answers to these questions, I'll be forever thankful! Help is always appreciated! And to those who have had similar questions to mine, I hope this will help! Don't forget to click on the link above to get the answers to the questions that were already replied to.

When it comes to editing ljs, I'm hopeless. I've tried the Help page, and sadly, I really don't understand any of this technobabel. So here are a few pressing questions I have for those of you who are lj experts (or just a lot more smarter than me)...

  • When posting to a community page, how can I post links with phrases like I can do with lj cut?
  • How can I post a link to a user/community when I credit them on the Comments box using Manage Userpics?
  • How can I make slick bios like this one? Ex: http://mediaspider.livejournal.com/profile
  • What exactly is Custom CSS, and what can I do with it?
It would be REALLY great if any of you have the answers to these questions, I'll be forever thankful! Help is always appreciated!
